What is SOS call in BMW?
When an emergency call is transmitted, relevant data will be sent along with it. In emergency situations, the system may trigger automatically. If you are not directly involved in an emergency situation but you want to report one, you may also use the SOS button.
Pressing the SOS button won’t connect you to the PSAP(Public Saftey Answering Point) directly. It will connect you with the BMW Assist agent who is trained to handle emergency call. They confirm that it is an emergency call and then dispatch to PSAP based on the GPS location received from your call.

If the front wheels are turned most tow trucks have dolleys they can put under them. Taking your BMW is no problem for an experienced tow truck driver. BMW recommends flat towing, but if a repo man, etc. is after your car they will take it any way they can.

How do you reset BMW SOS?
Coding is needed to code out the SOS function. It will no longer be operable with the new to you TCU module. I’m not sure what head unit you have but you may try to reset the radio by holding down the power button for about 25 secs. It should pick up the TCU after restarting and issue a reset on the MOST Loop.

How do I turn off BMW Assist?
Short of removing the module, there is no real way to 100% disable BMW Assist. The BMW assist only sends a signal when you activate it yourself or after an accident. It doesn’t monitor your location. There is more information ability than that (GPS can be activated the other way around).
